| So, my oldest sister started a Relay for Life team in MA, many, many years ago in my mother's honor and named it Chippy's Kids. Chippy was my mother's nickname with her childhood friends. The movement has grown, and my starting a team in Raleigh, makes it 7 states across the country that have Relay teams in her honor. The great-grandkids are planning to start a separate team and calling themselves Chippy's Kids' Kids. She was a great lady, even with her flaws, and we all miss her very much. A brain tumor took her from us in 1993 at the age of 68. I'm linking my fundraising page here, so please, don't hesitate to help us stop cancer once and for all!!! If you happen to be unfamiliar with Relay, it is an overnight event where members of a team walk continuously around a track for 24 hours. Over the years, it has evolved into being less than 24 total hours, but is typically an overnight event with lots of fun. I was able to get a donation from Miche as a fundraiser. If you are in direct sales, or you are trying to figure out which business might be the best for you, consider what the company does as far as giving back. Miche has a line of Hope Shells where a portion of the proceeds are donated to cancer research. One month each year, they choose another organization to give this money to, but the rest of the year, it goes to cancer research. I loved that feature of Miche since the beginning, but they added an even bigger benefit! They will donate product to your event for you to raffle or give away or use in a way that makes sense. I am getting 48 of Miche's Prima size base bags and 24 each of the 2 designs of shells to raffle off. The tickets are $5 each, or if you really can't wait for the end of May you can make a $50 donation, and receive one right away. (shipping excluded). I'm happy to accept your paypal payment and will put a ticket in the drawing for you!!! The attached flyer has a picture of the available shells. Please leave your comments about what you do to give back, or if you are also a Relay person. |
