Well, here's to a new adventure.
I've lived long enough to know I don't know everything and somedays I don't know anything. Today, I'm taking a leap of faith. Apparently, I may have insights and information you may think is interesting, and in sharing that with you, you may be curious about my passion for direct sales.
I'm willing to try.
I have been a fan of direct sales for a long, long time. It may seem 'pyramid-like' or deceptive or like you have to hound your closest friends and your family to earn any money, but you truly don't. It is essentially pyramid-like, but I don't see that as a bad thing.
If you encourage other people to love and do what you love and do, you can make money. How much money depends on how much time and effort you choose to invest. For me, it has been a part-time thing that mostly gets me discounts on a product I love.
I have trouble getting the motivation to make it a full time endeavor and make full time money, but I have seen it happen and I believe it can happen, if you are willing to put in the effort.
Currently, I have found a purse that has changed my life. I always hated purses. I would dig around at a department store until I found a functional one within my $20 to $30 range and carry it until it was no longer in one piece. I hated the fact that I needed one, and would frequently just put my money and my license in my pocket and not worry about a purse. Of course, with children and age, there are more things you need close at hand, and I would have to go to a group function and hate that battered brown bag that I had to carry.
While at a charity event, I put a silent bid on this bag that someone showed me. It was a basic bag, but there were 2 covers with it, and you could change the cover in the flash of an eye. Supposedly, there were many, many other covers that could be purchased to change the look every day, if you so desired!!!!
Guess what?! I won the bid, and discovered the world of Miche Bags and it's interchangeable shells, offering endless possibilities for your purse needs!

My appreciation of direct sales came at a young age. Mom and Dad were divorced and Mom was trying to make ends meet by selling Dutchmaid clothing. I was a teen and went with her to help her out at parties sometimes. I got involved with Princess House glassware in my early 20's, and during my divorce, discovered AVON products. I ran hot and cold with AVON for many years but I was inspired by Lisa Wilbur (http://the-winner-in-you.myshopify.com/) in NH and her story. It is possible to make a lot of money with AVON, but you have to work hard, too. Anybody still sell Monavie? Ya, that was a great little fad in my life, but not profitable. YTB, Your Travel Business was another short lived piece of my life. I'm currently very intrigued with essential oils and there are a few different direct sales companies in that business.
Anyway, my best advice is, if you find a product you can be passionate about, check it out!
Anyway, I've lived, I've loved, I've lost, and I'm willing to share. :-D
