So it is below freezing in Raleigh and we got an inch or so of snow before it converted to freezing rain. Coated everything, and this area of the country doesn't have the ability to deal with that. Not to mention, that the temps tend to sit around freezing when it does get cold here, which can be difficult to determine just how dangerous the roads might be.
Today was actually 17 degrees when I left my house this morning, with a wind chill putting it in single digits. Even by my Northeast standards, this is cold. Biting the ears and nose when walking to and from the car. Not typical for NC. Enough to remind me that it isn't so bad being far from the kids and grandkids, if I don't have 7' of snow to deal with. ;-)
Speaking of grandkids, number 6 is due today, but she is apparently not interested in this snowy weather either. Mom's still working, which means everyone is physically healthy even though she is exhausted.
I panicked a bit when my newly upgraded phone didn't seem to think I had cell service regularly. But I was able to replace it, and all is better now.
In the meantime, I keep browsing Indeed.com for the 'perfect' full time job. As I typically do, I saw a potential listing yesterday and sent off an updated resume, thinking nothing special about it. Lo and behold, I get a call back within hours from the recruiting office. Yes, the intermittent phone service cut me off a couple of times, but it didn't distract him, and tomorrow I am meeting him.
Warm thoughts that this is what is meant to be. I don't have any problem with my current job, but it would be nice to get back into my electronic manufacturing/customer service expertise, have paid time off, and possibly a retirement account again. (Hubby carries health insurance)
I seem to go from multiple events at once, to nothing special for weeks. Anyone else have this issue?
